Early to rise

Ξ November 29th, 2004 | → 0 Comments | ∇ General |

I got to wake up at 5:15am to take Katt to a Dr’s appointment. Following that appointment, I had my bone scan at 9am. I got a lovely injection, had a scan, and got to go home for a few hours while the radiationt hey injected me with seeped into my bones. At 12:30 I had 3 static bone scans taken which took about 15 minutes, then I had a 360 scan of my spine done which took half an hour. I had planned to do some clothes shopping afterwards but I forgot my wallet at home. I was on the ball, let me tell you!

I have been relaxing for most of the day. Other than a little site advertising, I’ve cuddled Tanuki a heck of a lot, played with the dogs, cleaned the bathroom, and watched a little TV. I’ve had a decided lack of sleep the last few nights so today was a catch up day rest wise.

Katt took a fantastic photo of Tanuki the other day. She has such a lovely bottom!

Tanuki in Bed

Ok, so my last entry wasn’t very exciting. I felt like writing and didn’t have much to say!

I’ve spent the last few days tweaking the Cunning Linguists Journals list. One of the things I really enjoy about being a webmaster is experimenting with new programs and scripts. I like to try out all the features and fiddle with different setups. From an outside perspective it may seem as if I’m highly agitated and restless when I’m engrossed in a task, which I am, but only because I’m so focused on what I’m doing and interruptions distract me! I digress. If you want to get some traffic to your blog/journal, consider signing up to the Cunning Linguists Journalslist.

I got up early yesterday to accept a grocery delivery. We order some of our groceries online because we are somewhat limited in terms of grocery stores in our area. There is great access to meat and vegetables, but some of the staples we like to have in the house are not available unless we skytrain or bus to a larger grocery store. it ends up costing less to order in that it does to pay for a cab ride back from the store. I can even get sausage rolls from this place!!!

I went over to see Tanuki in the early afternoon. I installed a DVD drive in her computer for her. I really love the plug and play operating systems. Back in the ‘old days’ I would have to install the driver myself, and fiddle with the BIOS as well to recognize a new drive. Progress is lovely. Considering my first computer was a Commodore 64, I have seen a LOT of progress in computers.

Where was I..

Yes. After I installed the drive for Tanuki we made our way back to my place and relaxed for a little bit. The puppies needed some love and a walk so we cuddled them for a bit. We popped over to Chinatown briefly too, so Tanuki could look at some baskets, and so I could pick up some honey buns from The Boss Bakery. If you’ve never had honey buns, they are hot dog shaped pastries filled with a honey and coconut filling. It is one of my favorite pastries! I had 3 of them!

Tanuki looked very fetching yesterday. She was all smiles and kisses and very huggable, among other things! We had a lot of fun last night. She’s a multi-orgasmic vixen and I love it! She’s incredibly sweet, sexy, and wonderful!

We went to the Heather for beer last night too. That is always fun. I tried the curried chips for the first time and they totally rocked. I’d never tried curry sauce as a dip for chips before. Very yummy!

I was woken up this morning a number of times by different phone calls. The first was a call from the bone scan clinic at 8:30am reminding me that I need to show up at 9am, I get an injection, and then I come back 2 hours late for the scan. The second call was from UPS at 9:45 or so delivering the weight/body fat scale we got from our Air Miles rewards. I had to try it right away of course! I like this scale; I think we’ll be good friends!

It’s very quiet at home today. Tanuki left for home at about 9:30 or so, Katt is still sleeping, the bugs are asleep, and I’m sitting ehre typing quietly on my keyboard. Well, not totally quiet. I hear people yelling in the alley behind our building over drugs and money. I also hear the rain occasionally spattering against our windows, and the gentle snarking and snoring of sleeping bugs.

I need to drink some water soon, and have a bite to eat. I work out tonight so I want to be hydrated and energized.

Oh, I also got an e-mail today from one of my favorite peope in the whole world, Aya! She’s back in town and working and we’re trying to find some time to hang out between our different schedules. I’m looking forward to seeing her, it’s been too long.

Off to eat, drink, and tidy. Oh, I called a maid service the other day, and it looks pretty inexpensive to have someone come in once every two weeks for a deep clean of our condo. I figure I can cover the bondage gear hanging on the wall with a blanket or something :)

For any of you that are on the Cunning Linguists Journals directory, we’ve updated the script to deal with the user deletion issue we had been having. Unfortunately this means you’ll have to sign up again!

For those of you that want to sign up to the journal listing, you can do so here.

Sofa bed time

Ξ November 23rd, 2004 | → 0 Comments | ∇ General |

We sold our sofa on Sunday and we got almost what we wanted for it. I ordered the new sofa bed on Monday. Unfortunately, there were none in stock so the sofa bed had to be shipped out from Quebec. It will be 2 weeks before the sofa bed arrives so we’ve inflated the air mattress and are using that as our downstairs seating until the sofa bed arrives. Can’t go for weeks sitting on concrete; bleh.

I woke up at 4am yesterday after having the dream that I was having the worst headache I’d ever had in my life. Unfortunately, when I woke up the headache was still there. I can’t explain how much it hurt. Katt was really sweet and got an ice pack and rubbed my temples, neck, and shoulders while I waited for the ibuprofen and muscle relaxants to kick in. I finally managed to fall back asleep 2 or so hours later and thankfully woke up with only a minor headache.

I think the headache was due to excessive junk food eating on Saturday and Sunday and because I have been dehydrated for the last 4 or 5 days. I’m not remembering to drink enough water throughout the day. I can tell I am dehydrated because my mouth and lips are constantly dry and I’m always thirsty. There’s also a particular taste I get in my mouth when I am dehydrated. It’s gross.

I spent most of my evening after I got home from training trying to install a new toplist for the Cunning Linguists Journals. I have everything installed properly at this point, but one file is giving me errors and I can’t seem to figure out why. I’ve sent a request to the script’s tech support to figure out what is wrong. Hopefully I’ll have the new script up and running in the next few days.

I also manages to lock myself out of my server tonight. I have brute force detection software installed on my server that blocks people who try to hack the server. I have my IP address on the ignore list so I don’t get blocked. Unfortunately, shaw cable uses dynamic IP addresses, and my IP address changed, so when I was setting up a new account and entered the wrong password, I got locked out. Ptttthhhht! Thankfully the server company can log in for me and unblock my IP. Hopefully that’ll be done tomorrow so I can work on the toplist script.

Anyhoo… It’s time for water, pug peeing, and bed.

Saturday

Ξ November 20th, 2004 | → 0 Comments | ∇ General |

I’m one sore and tired mofo today. My workout last night was a killer, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I even enjoyed the parts where I was so out of breath that I started to feel dizzy. The best part? My back didn’t get sore for the first 2 hours of my 2.5 hour workout. It did get sore in the last half hour though, mainly from the torque generated by repeated trunk rotation. I was very dehydrated by the time I finished. I have been drinking litres and litres of water since I got home to try to rehydrate myself. I feel good about my workout. I feel like I am making more progress when I push myself that hard.

I spent part of today promoting our restricted websites. It’s pretty boring setting up link exchanges but thats how we get the word out, so it’s neccessary. I’m not sure what I’ll be doing tonight yet. I’ll probably decide to watch some Star Trek and eat bad food (since it IS my junk food day).

Two more reasons I am glad I don’t live in the United States.

Is Porn more Addictive than Crack?

Senate Subcommittee Holds Hearing on Porn Addiction

It’s just sad that there are people in this day and age likening pornography to drug and gambling addictions. As I’ve said many a time, porn leads to masturbation, not violence. It’s just sad to me that there are people out there trying to take away other’s freedom to express their sexuality in a healthy way. It’s the “Let’s repress everybody so they can suffer as much as I do..” club! Bah, humbug! Most of the backlash against pornography seems to come from the religious and political right wing, both in Canada and the U.S.. What I really do not understand is where anyone gets the idea that they can tell me what is healthy and normal for ME, based on their religious and/or political beliefs. The lovely thing about Canada and the US is that both countries have written into law rights and freedoms which guarantee an individual’s right to CHOOSE what path they follow and not be discriminated against because of it. Unfortunately, what often seems to happen is a group of people gets together to try to re-interpret the meanings of these rights in their favor. The other thing that happens is that these groups will say that the rights of gay people to marry, or every person to express their sexuality, wasn’t what the documents writers were thinking of when they wrote the documents. It seems pretty clear to me.

These groups aren’t motivated by any sense of altruism, they’re purely motivated by self interest. They don’t care what you or I want, they only care about their own agenda and conforming the world to their image. They’ll say all the way along that they are acting in the spirit of the Rights and Freedoms guaranteed every person, but in fact, they are acting contrary to those rights and freedoms.

It makes me sad that there are still people in the world that cannot accept the beauty and wonder of each person to live and love as they choose.

Diversity is a good thing.

Strangely Fuzzy

Ξ November 18th, 2004 | → 0 Comments | ∇ General |

My day today consisted of: waking up, walking the dogs, doing a little work, shaving my balls, a quick visit to the Dr, lunch, masturbation, a workout, dinner, and more surfing.

The world is strangely fuzzy this evening. I fell asleep while reading at around 4:45pm today, quite out of character for me as I always feel hung over after napping, and woke up feeling like there was a pane of glass between me and the rest of the world. I think it must be the muscle relaxants I use for my back. Over the past few days I’ve been much more tired than usual and have been catching myself falling asleep at the oddest times and in the oddest places. Ah well. A good night’s sleep and I’ll feel as fit as a fiddle!

David Copperfield was a lot of fun. The show lasted about 70 minutes and he did some very cool illusions. Copperfield interacted a lot with the audience too, which was also cool. After the show we went for sushi and then came home.

It’s been a nice few days. Thursday I will do some site updates and banking, and in the evening I’m going to see Tanuki. I haven’t seen her much in the last week so I’m looking forward to lots of cuddling and smooching!

Should Canada indict Bush?

Going Out Tonight!

Ξ November 16th, 2004 | → 1 Comments | ∇ General |

Katt and I are going to see David Copperfield live tonight. It should be fun. I’ve never seen a live performance of an illusionist before. We have seats right near the edge of the balcony, which should be good. The show sold out pretty quickly; we were was pretty lucky to get the seats we did.

I woke up today to find a lot of spam comments on my journal from spam bots. I deleted them all and put in some spam protection scripts to try to stop them. So far so good. The worst offender was this casino place. Ah well, blocked.

I also put a current weather script on my journal. I love the weather, especially around fall and winter. I am constantly looking at the weather reports to see if/when we’ll get snow. The one thing I’d change about Vancouver if I could would be to have an actual cold winter in Dec and January. It’s always so mild and wet! I’m sure Katt is sick of me mentioning moving somewhere in B.C. where there is snow in winter. She hates the snow, vehemently. I don’t think Tanuki likes the snow all that much either, actually. It like the snow because it makes everything look so peaceful and clean. Snow is very comforting to me, and it is romantic. Snow and cold outside means bunding up in warm clothes, sitting in front of a warm fire, cuddling with sweeties, and drinking hot cocoa. I’m hoping, when we move in a number of years, to move somewhere where the seasons are a bit more defined that’s still close to Vancouver.

I still need to schedule more photo shoots soon. We’re pretty far behind. I’ll be doing much of the photo shoots with other folks on my own from now on, at least until Katt’s depression lifts enough for her to become involved again. Unfortunately, many of the shoots we want to do need a dominant female, and Katt is the only one I know who does photos. More food for thought.

Oh yeah, the exchange rate sucks from US to Canadian funds. Since all our sales are in US funds, when we convert them to Canadian currency right now we lose big time. The exchange rate is at 1.168 right now, compared to 1.55 last January. That’s a huge difference, but there’s not much we can do about it.

Now, off to take my muscle relaxant so my back stops protesting.

Bleh

Ξ November 15th, 2004 | → 0 Comments | ∇ General |

The sofa guy fell through. It turns out that even though he supposedly wanted the sofa, his girlfriend didn’t. Ah well. It’ll mean the money in the bank stays in the bank until we find another buyer.

This is the first time I’ve had internet access since I woke up today. The internet was completely down in my area for my ISP because hydro lines were messed up somehow. It was interesting to me how the lack of Internet access affected me. It is amazing how much I use the internet for amusement and entertainment, even when working. I grew up without the net, but nowadays it seems almost indespensable. Especially for online business types like myself.

I am craving chocolate today. I must be having a down kind of day because I haven’t really been craving comfort food much in the last little while. I’ve figured out that my junk food addiction is pretty much entirely based on seeking emotional comfort rather than a physical craving. That makes it a little easier for me to manage.

More later. I am going to fiddle some more with my new journal software.
