The Dungeon warming party was a real success last night. We had between 40 and 50 people come, and the feedback we got was awesome. Every single play station was used last night. It was awesome! A big thank you to all the folks who came out!
From the feedback we received, one corner of the dungeon where the cross is was a little dark, so we’re going to put in a light fixture over top to brighten it up. One of the seating areas we made for aftercare didn’t get used at all, so we think we may turn it into a play station. We just have to figure out what will work in that space.
The other thing I learned is that we either have to make a no stiletto heels/heels in general upstairs rule, or we have to put in area rugs upstairs. The floor in the second bedroom, and a strip of floor from the kitchen to that bedroom was damaged by a pair of stiletto heels that had a metal piece on the bottom. We have about 300 1/8″ puncture marks in our freshly refinished HW floor. It’s painful, but I stock it up to a learning experience. Our bad for not thinking of it.
We slept in until almost 1pm today, and other than cleaning up the left over food, I’m going to relax for the rest of the day.
Yay for hawesome parties!

I grew my hair out. Time for a shave?

The dungeon preparations have almost been completed!
The anchor for the St Andrews cross has been anch’ed, suspension points have been put in the joists, and anchors have been put in the wall.
My list of things completed today:
- bought a new, sexier, medical table
- moved my tools from the basement and garage into the shop.
- installed a dimmer switch in the dining room
- installed a 3 way switch in the entry hall.
- cleaned off the deck
- hung art in the living room and dining room
- lots of web work
- organized the linen closet
- cleaned the nursery
- washed laundry
Things left to do:
- more art to hang
- pressure wash deck
- industrial house cleaning
- add anchor points to space chair
- bring new medical table to dungeon
- bring old medical table upstairs into the garage
- touch up/repaint portions of dungeon floor
- buy drinks and munchies and napins and paper plates
- print house rules and dungeon info
It’s looking good. My least favorite part is the cleaning, but it’s neccessary.
Other things I’d like to accomplish. Get Laid. Many Times.

I got bored with my old layout. I think my last layout had been used the longest out of any previous ones. The white background just got too… white. I much prefer black. I know with this layout that some folks will have a hard time seeing the red links on the background, but as someone wise once said, tough titties.
The dungeon has been a huge expense for us, and watching our savings disappear has been a little stressful, but having the space is totally worth it. We’ve shown some folks the progress in the dungeon and they’ve all been really impressed. Katt should take most of the credit for the dungeon design. All I did was paint the walls and floors a solid colour. She did the faux painting and all the networking to get the furniture and gear. She did the hard stuff. All I had to do was bring it home.
There really isn’t much left to do.
- Finish hanging gear
- mop floor
- install a light fixture
- hang a curtain
- put suspension hooks in ceiling for the sling
- drink beer
- tidy upstairs
- buy drinks and munchies
- clean off deck
- put tools in shop
- make all beds
- drink beer
- get safer sex supplies
- do things I forgot.
- hang art

and the dungeon will be completely finished! The wiring for the medical area is finished thanks to a friend coming to help. And we now have power for the coffee maker as well. Good things!
I wired in the sound system in the basement today and I am really pleased with the result. The speakers on their own were a little tinny with the concrete walls, but once I put the subwoofer in the mix it took care of that. Lovely sound!!!
I also brought the medical table and some rubber floor mats downstairs, too.
All thats left is to finish organizing! I will also put another coat of paint on the floor where the mats and other furniture has scraped the floor. The floor paint seems to come up fairly easy, so it’s a good thing I have a few cans left over for touch ups.
The guest list for our dungeon warming party keeps growing. We’re up to about 45 people now! It’s going to be pretty cool.
In other happy news, Battletar Galactica has been renewed for a 4th season! Woohoo!!!

In a few days the dungeon will be finished! It’s amazing to see the space finally come together. We have a medical table./area, cross, two cages (one acts as a bench as well), a massage table, a queen bed, and wall stations for the evil in all of us!
We also have lots of seating area for parties. Which brings me to the next point; We are having our first party on Feb 24th. If you are a friend, we’ve met at one time or another, or have a burning need to meet us, and would like an evite, please let me know.
And the topping on the cake for the party. Good music. We have a fantastic sound system that we’re installing this weekend. Very much fun.
Woo! Parties!
