I installed the new version of wordpress last night. I have only noticed a few new features that will really make an impact on my bloging, notably the new tags feature and the wysiwyg editor functions. I do like the fact that wordpress lets me know about plugin updates, that is really cool.
The only thing I do not like about wordpress is the manual upgrade process. I’d love an upgrade feature that was built right into the control panel. A nice one button update would rock. I maintain about 15 blogs and updating each one is hassle. Not much fun at all.
I still prefer wordpress to any other blog software. I love the features and there are so many people out there contributing themes and plugins to make it more secure and more customizable.

I’ve mentioned before that Katt and I are thinking of selling our house and moving in spring. We originally decided to move here because we thought that the location would be ideal for a BDSM B&B and for holding monthly kink parties. Now that we’ve decided not to throw parties any more, we don’t really need to be here. Living here is also on the expensive side so it would be nice to move somewhere less expensive.
We’ve decided to sell off most of the items from the AB nursery, since Katt is not able to do sessions any longer, and just keep what we need to do photo shoots for our nursery site. We’ll be deciding what will be staying and what will be going over the next few days. If you are local’ish and are interested in buying any of the pieces of nursery furniture we have just let me know. If you have no means to transport it, I have a trailer and can deliver for the cost of gas.
We’re going to be doing a fair bit of work around the house to get it ready to sell between now and spring: painting exterior trim, painting kitchen, redoing kitchen counters, refinish the bath tub and put a tub surround in, electrical rewiring for 9 outlets, and other miscellaneous stuff. The big job is done - the roof. A new roof is a great selling point. I started the window trim yesterday and applied the first coat of primer today. As soon as we get another day without rain I’ll go out and fill any cracks with filler, and put a second coat over the spots I’ve filled.
I have mixed feelings about moving. On one hand I am looking forward to being able to pay off some loans, and I really love Vancouver Island. On the other hand I will miss friends in Vancouver and miss being close to Vancouver. I also worry about being able to produce porn if we live on the Island. Of course, we don’t really make much of it here. The Fraser Valley isn’t so happening for porn. Vancouver was the place to be for that. Hopefully we can find new models on the Island so we can keep the business working for us.
We will see what happens in spring. Who knows… we may end up staying here a little longer if the housing market is not as good as we would like it to be.
In the mean time, I’m going to look for a third job. I need to feel financially secure, so if I need to get a job outside the home, that’s what I will do.

Have you been thinking about going bald? We can help! We have over 6
years of head shaving experience! Many women have a fantasy to be
shaved by someone who really knows what they are doing, namely Katt or
Wolfe, or they have a detailed fantasy that they want to make reality.
We can make it happen.
We are located a short distance from Vancouver, B.C. We can host
photo shoots in our studio, or we can travel up to 3 hours distance to
you. (ie) Vancouver Island, Seattle, WA, Kamloops, B.C. etc.
The comfort of our models is really important to us, and models will
never be asked to do something that makes them uncomfortable. Many
models prefer to meet us for coffee before deciding to do a photo
shoot with us, and we encourage this if you have any questions before
hand. Our goal is to capture unique and artistic erotic imagery.
Nudity is optional, and depends on your comfort level.
Please contact us if you are interested.

Announcement from Robert Jordan’s Blog
This is really sad. I love the Wheel of time series and admired RJ’s skills as a writer.
Those of us that are eagerly awaiting the last book, book 12, of the series will be happy to know that he left his wife and brother a full outline of the unfinished portions of the book so it could be finished by his wife (his editor for many years) if he passed away.
Stories are important; they re affirm the wonder and beauty of life… and death.

It’s done. Finished. Yay!
Ξ September 14th, 2007 | → Comments Off | ∇ General |
I am almost finished the roof. The weather cooperated today and I was able to work for about 10 hours straight. All I have left to do is about 40 feet of ridge caps and to seal the chimney flashing and some other miscellaneous items on the roof. I should be done by 2pm tomorrow. Of course, after I finish the roof, I still have to bring the refuse to the dump. I will save that for another day, perhaps.
I’ll have it finished just in time for the rain we’re expecting on Sunday. Woot!
I am looking forward to getting back to my regular routine. I have let so many things slide so that the roof would be finished as quickly as possible. The first thing I will need to do is clean the house. Messy messy - the floor in particular needs a good mopping.
I was hoping to finish the roof today, but I stopped early to go to the pool with Katt. The time consuming part of doing the ridge caps is cutting them from the whole shingle. A bundle of 20 shingles yields 66 ridge caps, which covers 27.5 feet of ridge.
Ok… off to bed I go. One more early morning, and I am done.

The roof is coming along fairly well. I’ve been woring on it for a week now - a week - wow, and it is about 3/4 done. I had some friends come over to help on Saturday, and a few even stayed over and helped again on Sunday! I am really thankful that I had so much help on Saturday and Sunday. The whole process has taken much less time.
I have the west side of the house left to do, and then I need to put the ridge caps on. Then I will be done!
The only downside to being on the roof 8-10 hours a day - I have a tan from my biceps down, and my neck up. I’m using SPF 70, and I am still getting tanned. Huh, who knew tanning products sucked so bad. I do not like to tan. Yes, I look good tanned, but looking good now translated into more wrinkles and skin cancer later. Blech.
I am waiting for 4pm to arrive so I can get back on the roof. It has been 28-30 degrees out, which means I have from 7am to noon and from 4pm-8pm to work on the roof. It is too hot mid day to be up there. Sweat soaking through my clothes is neither sexy, nor comfortable.
On the plus size, roofing is really good exercise. I’m down to 197 lbs. This is my morning, fully hydrated, weight, not my end of the work day dehydrated weight. I generally lose 5-9lbs in water weight each day, and that is with drinking 1-2L of water each hour.
Once I am finished the roof… I am going to sleep for 2 days. Well, maybe not 2 days, but I will sleep in until 10am. Working from 7am-10pm is not fun. Wake Up - Roof - Internet Business - Roof - More Internet business - Sleep.
And, once I am done the roof, I am going to get back to the gym. My back feels pretty good now and I am excited about getting back on the workout train.

I started tearing off the old roof tonight. I didn’t get very much done, about 1/8 of the roof, because I only had 3 hours to work on it before dark. Still, I got the process started and I’ll be able to work on it more tomorrow.
I forgot that it is getting darker earlier now. It means 3 hours less a night to work.
That is all.

I stepped on the scale today and, for the first time in seven years, I weight under 200lbs. Pretty cool! I’ve been cutting now for 3 months and I’ve dropped 27lbs. I would have liked to be able to work out more in August, but my back injury kept me sidelined, and the local pool was closed so I couldn’t swim. Regardless, my diet has been working for me on it’s own, and the pool has reopened so I can swim again, even if I can’t lift weights yet.
In household news, I went up on the roof of the house today to scrape off the moss, and in the process of doing so discovered that the moss was the only thing holding the roof together. So, contrary to my original plan, I will have to put a new roof on the house before fall arrives. My plan is to start the roof on Friday, and do one section of the roof a day. There are 4 sections to the roof, so it should take me 4-5 days. I decided to do one section at a time so I don’t leave the roof without cover if it decides to rain. I can also take a little more time if it gets hot out and extend it over a few weeks if necessary. I have a big tarp in case of major downpours.
I am not particularly looking forward to doing the roof myself, but I can’t afford to pay someone else to do it for me. By doing it myself I’ll pay 75-80% less than what a roofer would charge. Of course that means I have to dispose of the shingles myself afterwards, and it will take longer - but I can’t argue with the math.
I will happily accept roof help :) I offer food and beverages and good conversation!
I hope to start Friday, Saturday at the latest, and work like a demon until it’s done.
