moar funny pictures
1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
I got a vasectomy. Other than that, it was my first full year living in my own house.
2. Did you keep your New Year’s Resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make New Years resolutions. I always do my best to be healthy and treat people with kindness and respect, so there is never any reason to make them.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Again, no.
5. What countries did you visit?
Katt and I went to the US a few times last year. That was it.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
More financial stability so we can pay off student loan debt and put some money into our home.
7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I don’t have any dates in 2007 that stick out.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
My biggest achievements.. Getting a job outside of my own business for the first time in 6 years, and working out consisitently and staying healthy in 2007. I also did the roof on my house in the fall. That was a huge job, and I felt really good when I had finished it.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Blowing through savings early in the year too fast.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
This year was really healthy for me. I have not had any injuries and I don’t even remember having a head cold.
11. What was the best thing someone bought you?
It might seem silly, but the Transformers DVD. Katt got it for me for Christmas and she totally surprised me. It is hard to surprise me!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Both Katt and my choices regarding health this year have really been astounding. She has continued to be healthier and has lost a staggering amount of weight in the last 5 months, and I have been staying healthy as well.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Insert any polititian here that fights against the rights of individuals to choose for themselves.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Setting up our dungeon and renovating our home. Living in a house is NOT cheap. Heating alone is nasty.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I don’t really remember. There were a few movies that excited me. I was excited about Christmas.
16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
I haven’t really listened to any new music this year, so I don’t have a song in mind.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? About the same.
b) thinner or fatter? Thinner and more muscular.
c) richer or poorer? Poorer throughout most of the year, better at the end of the year.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
I wish I had challenged myself a bit more last year. The only goal I set for myself was to lose 30lbs and get to the gym 4-5 days a week. I achieved it.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Spending money.
20. How do you plan to spend Christmas?
I spent part of the day at home with Katt, and the other part with my family.
21. Did you fall in love in 2007?
I did not fall in love with anyone new this year, but I always keep falling in love with Katt. She is very special.

None.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
Heroes, Chuck, and Battlestar Galactica.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
There are some people I do not trust and will not associate with, but I do not hate anyone. I simply choose not to involve myself with people with values and ethics that do not jive with my own.
25. What was the best book you read?
I’ve read too many books to single out a favorite. I do have to admit that the home renovation/repair books I bought have come in VERY handy.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Cripes… I don’t even know… I rarely listen to the radio so I am horrid with knowing what new music is available. I really want to focus on music in 2008.
27. What did you want and get?
Love.
28. What did you want and not get?
I was hoping to get a hot tub so Katt could use it to help alleviate some of her fibromyalgia discomfort, but they are just too expensive. I am hoping we can find a used one in 2008.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
I don’t remember many of the movies I saw last year. The only one that sticks out for me is the Transformers, and that is partly because I got it on DVD for Christmas. Things like that tend to slip my mind unless I write them down.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Relaxed on my b-day I think, but had a party in the dungeon that was also a birthdya party for me a few days later.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I’ll be damned if I know. Winning the lottery! Having more financial security.

Evolving.
33. What kept you sane?
Reading, music, and love.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Angelina Jolie is always gorgeous… but I don’t fancy any of them, really. They are too distant and not ‘real’ enough to be interesting to me. I prefer people that are actually attainable.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Where do I start… Global warming, War in Iraq, war in Afghanistan, AIDS, the pending oil crash.
36. Who do you miss?
Nobody really. I thought I missed someone, but I realized that there wasn’t any point, since no effort was being made to keep contact with me. So I let it go.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
I’ve met a lot of cool people in the last year. Some I have gotten to know, and some I want to get to know better in the year to come.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007?
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
I will post some when I can think of lyrics that fit… nothing coms to mind right now.
As always, Christmas seems so far away for most of the year, and when it arrives, it seems all too brief. Still, it is one of my favorite times of the year and I always look forward to it.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas filled with whatever makes you happy.
The last few days have been spent re-organizing the house and doing a general pre holiday clean up. Pretty much everything in the house now has a home; most excellent.
I also picked up a tree today and Katt and I put it up and decorated it. It’s a very lovely tree, with lots of pretty red lights and nice decorations. I really enjoy the holidays and it is nice to finally have the space to have a tree every year. The condo in Vancover was just too darn small. This house is just over 5 times bigger than our condo (not very impressive when you consider that the condo was only 465 square feet), and it is nice to feel… roomy!
Katt’s folks are coming to visit for a night or two this week. We don’t get a chance to visit them as much now that I’m working, and it will be good to see them both.
I’m really looking forward to the holidays. I have a few days off over christmas and a few days over new years, which I am excited about.
Life is good. Met a local lady with many of the same interests as myself and Katt that seems really cool. Work is going well. Dogs are happy. House is mostly clean. Yay!
Not a whole lot new in my life to talk about. I fixed and installed the door that goes into our living room from the main hallway. I cut out some plexiglass to put in the spots where the glass had broken between the lead piping. I also had to re-seat the bottom hinge because the door was not closing properly. It looks good and closes now, which I am happy about.
I have been working like crazy this past few months. I work during the week and come home and work some more and work more on the weekend.
I need to do some major organizing of the house, but finding the time is challenging, especially when the down time I do have is even more valuable than it used to be. I am not quite used to being un-retired yet.
Fitness is going well. I am still at the gym at least 4 days a week. I have reduced my cardio to one day a week to see if I can gain a bit of muscle weight. I am continuing to lift more weight, so it is all good.
What can I say.. really not a whole lot going on right now outside of work work work.
