So, I spent last night and part of today painting the front and side deck of the house what I thought would be a dark cinnamon colour. A coat of primer, and two top coats later, it turned out pink. NOT impressed. The coverage was also much less than stated, so two coats did not cover like it was advertised to.
I went back to the place I got the deck paint from and showed them a sample of how it turned out, and they will give me a new batch of the paint that has been tinted so it will actually come out the colour I want it, BUT I have to wait until Thursday for the paint expert to be at the store to mix it properly.
I also have an extra can of the paint I bought that I will bring back to be replaced. Hopefully they will replace it as well, since stores often don’t accept tinted paint returns. Otherwise it is a waste of 50 bucks.
I am happy they are going to fix the issue, but cranky because I was not told that the colour wouldn’t be what I expected and that I wasted a lot of time and money in the first place.
I hope that the new colour mix will turn out the way I hope. Otherwise I will be very pissed.
