I will try to make my ideas as clear as possible.
Social change happens independently of voting. Political parties move towards whatever direction on the political scale (let, centre, right) based on societies general values, and certainly more often lately, towards societies idealized values.
Law, rather than being defined by politicians, is being reforumated based on the charter of rights, which is a written statement of idealized values.
All parties, to attract voters, move towards the political ideals that they feel will get them the most votes. In this case we see all of our political parties moving more towards the centre of the political spectrum. The conservatives certainly are nowhere near as right wing as they were in the past, and the NDP and Liberals are just left of centre themselves.
Social rights recognized that no political party will touch (except perhaps the really odd one like the CHP) are rights such as abortion and gay marriage. There is no way a law against either could be supported by the charter, or, I think, the general population.
The ideological split between parties really does not exist any longer. Other than minor platform issues, they all say they intend on solving the same problem,s albeit in slightly different ways.
I tell you, if I were a political science major (which I am not, nor ever will be), I would write my thesis on the political shift to center, the reasons behind it, and the influence of idealized social values on redirecting party ideology over time.
Interesting stuff.
I am of the belief that if you find something that works in terms of clothing, you stick with it. Fortunately, with underwear, it’s easy to do. It’s not so easy to do with other clothes, particularly more expensive items like pants and shirts.
I’ve been told it’s odd that I’ve worn the same brand of underwear and socks for over 10 years. It took me 5 years of experimenting with underwear to find a style and brand that both kept the boys in tight and looked good to boot, so I don’t have a lot of desire to experiment again.
Boxers are not for me. They are too loose and leave your bits to knock together like two harmony balls. Not so comfy. Bikini briefs are also not for me. Just… ick. TIghtey whiteys, while comfortable, are just not sexy. Even if I am the only one seeing my underwear, I want them to look good. This eventually led me to try Jockey’s poco briefs. I can get them in black, they fit well and keep everything where it is supposed to be, and they make me look good.
Of course, I wouldn’t wander around at a fetish event in just my underwear. While appropriate for regular home use, they do not have the flash necessary to be a focal point.
Fetish options for underwear include such things as pvc underwear, rubber, leather, and, if I were so inclined, varieties of lace. Being the masculine guy I am, my first inclination is towards leather and or rubber. I’ve tried PVC, of course, but much of what you find in PVC is neither functional not comfortable. Rubber looks great, but again, being the masculine (read hairy ass) guy I am, I think that getting in and out of rubber shorts would be a painful experience. That leaves leather. Unfortunately, the only leather undergarments I’ve seen for men are little more than codpieces that leave your ass hanging out. Not the impression I wish to make.
So few choices! It is enough to make a man cranky.
