Legend of the Seeker

I was eagerly anticipating the new TV series, Legend of the Seeker, which is based on the book, Wizards First Rule, by Terry Goodkind. One of my favourite books of all time, I was hoping the translation to TV would really do the story justice. Unfortunately, the production values are Xena’esque, the dialogue stilted, and the actors completely inappropriate for the parts.
One series that I did really enjoy was cancelled 4 episodes into its first season; My Own Worst Enemy. I thought the story was interesting, and Christian Slater acted the part quite well. I think the main plot line, ie. chip in brain malfunctions creating spy with randomly switching personalities, was likely the weak point. *I* liked it, of course, but I can see how some might have looked at the show and thought that it was a wierd plot device.
Mad TV was also cancelled. Argh! Some of the best (and worst) sketch comedy ever created was done on that show. Alas, no more Stuart, except in reruns.
Not that I watch a lt of TV, but I do follow a few shows dilligently. House MD, Chuck, Supernatural, and Heroes. Chuck is teh kool!
I would love to get a nice new 42″ wide screen plasma TV to watch the shows on, but I will wait until the prices go down around the holidays. I am hoping the recession in the US and Canada will mean retailers will lower prices to get people into their stores. Crossing of the fingers!
