Merry Christmas

While not as elegant as the Queen, nor as irrelevant as the pope, it’s time for my annual Christmas address to the… err.. blogosphere.

I’ve had a great year;  a year when held in contrast to what is happening throughout the world seems blessed indeed.  Economic uncertainty, joblessness, homelessness, the mortgage crisis in the US, and war have been major issues in 2008.    What started out as an optimistic year has slowly turned sour, leaving many worse off than they were the year before.  2009 looks to be even worse.

I am very thankful for what I have;  love, shelter, a great job, yummy food, adorably furries, and life.  I don’t know hat the future will bring, but I choose to meet it with optimism and hope.  Hope that human beings will work out their differences, hope that governments realize that money is NOT REAL and that resources exist to feed, clothe, and shelter every person, hope that people look outside themselves to see what they can do for others, and hope that all people have the opportunity to -love- and to exist without hate.

Merry Christmas.

A man's ethical behavior should be based effectively on sympathy, education, and social relationships; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.
