About Me
Ξ September 16th, 2005 | → | ∇ General |
Age: I was born in April of 1971. I’m an Aries, born in the Chinese year of the Boar.
Locale: After spending 6 months traveling across Canada and through parts of the US, I came to the conclusion that there is no place like home. In October we moved into a new (to us) home in a suburb about 90 minutes east of Vancouver, B.C. We’re close to the ocean, and far enough out that property prices, gasoline, and most other expenses are more reasonable. We’ve also got a gorgeous view of the mountains from the front and back of the house. Very happy man!
Personality: I am generally friendly, very open minded, and intelligent. I try to be pretty relaxed about life and the ups and downs that go along with living. I like to try new things and love to learn. I do my best to treat people like I want to be treated. I am a homebody for the most part. I tend to prefer smaller social gatherings to large crazy events.
I am a mix of contradictions, and I have learned to embrace most of them.
I love to be active. If I’m not exercising regularly I’m not happy. Martial arts has been my passion since I was 12, but injuries sidelined me in April of 2005 and I’ve been swimming and weight lifting since. Working out is my method of stress relief.
I love Guinness and single malt scotch.
I try not to take life too seriously. Life is pretty much a big game to me; a serious game, but a game none-the-less. I look at things like the stock market, government, our economic system - it’s all made up of strange rules that nobody really understands why they exist, but we follow them anyways because it’s what we’re told to do. We need to keep ourselves entertained somehow.
Relationship Status: I am in a long term relationship with my soul mate, Katt.
Politics: I’m socially very liberal. I am pro-choice, pro gay marriage, and believe strongly in government funded Medicare and education. I believe that religion and government should be completely separate.
Profession: I’m a web designer and photographer, among other things. I keep busy.
Sexuality: I’m very fussy about who I become involved with. It’s a recurring theme throughout my life. I’m picky. Who I find attractive is very much based around personality, chemistry, and communication, rather than gender. I support every individual’s choice to love who they choose.
Kink: I have been involved in BDSM for about 15 years as a Dominant. I have a real interest in most aspects of BDSM and play including s/m, role play, age play, and service oriented training. That’s scratching the surface, but it gives a general idea.
Spirituality: Yes. I believe in possibilities, and I have faith in myself. Quite honesly, I am a skeptic about many things. What I wish to believe and what I do believe are at dire opposites. I try to live in a world of possibility and rather than debate whether something exists or not, I acknowledge that my perception of the universe is limited by the shell I inhabit.

Body Mod: I’ve got a tattoo on my right arm. I think I will very likely stick with one tattoo. I have had a gift certificate for 4 years now for a new tattoo that I haven’t used yet, and somehow I think the likelihood that I’ll find another design that I want on my body is pretty slim. I’m not discounting it completely, but I’m not over enthused about more body art at the moment. I also have a PA.
Education: I have a degree in Anthropology, and have done Masters studies in Counseling Psychology. I’m also a martial artist; it’s my passion and something I will eventually pursue as a career. All in all I am a student of Life and am looking forward to learning more.
Hobbies: I love to read. Reading is one of my absolute favorite things to do in the entire world. Ive been stuck in the same genre for years though - Science Fiction and Fantasy. Yes - geek boy. My list of favorite authors includes Asimov, Charles De Lint, Tad Williams, Terry Goodkind, David Eddings, Stephen R Donaldson, and Robert Jordan. Most of the books I read apart from this genre are psychology or sexuality books. Or information specific to a project I am working on.
Music: I love music. I definitely prefer Blues, Alternative Rock, 80’s Rock, Metal, hard rock, and Jazz. I’m also a sucker for a good love song. I can’t honestly say that I like Country Music or Opera. I’m a bit of a rocker at heart. Give me some AC/DC, Silverchair, Radiohead, Billy Joel, Metallica, Beatles, Bif Naked, David Bowie, Dry Cell, Evanescence etc; music with character. I’m also a sucker for 80’s music. That makes sense given I was an 80’s child!
