I just reviewed a blog for janesguide that I really liked, so I thought I’d mention it here as well.
Calico : The Dominatrix Next Door
I really enjoyed reading her blog, so much so that I gave it my pick on janesguide and have linked to it on my own blog. Calico is a dominatrix and fetish model from NYC and she uses her blog to talk about her experiences as a sex worker and her own personal fetish interests. I like that she talks about what it is like to be a sex worker and how perceptions of sex workers don’t match the reality. She also talks about her own interests and how the can be quite divergent from her work as a dominatrix.
She writes extremely well, and I found her to be really engaging and interesting. She speaks on topics I’ve dealt with, and spoken about, myself as someone in the sex industry. In my case, I’ve modeled, been a photographer, done pro dom sessions, and run a private kink club, and dealt with the misperceptions of those who don’t understand what we do.
Her site is a great read. I encourage you to check it out.
Have you been thinking about going bald? We can help! We have over 6
years of head shaving experience! Many women have a fantasy to be
shaved by someone who really knows what they are doing, namely Katt or
Wolfe, or they have a detailed fantasy that they want to make reality.
We can make it happen.
We are located a short distance from Vancouver, B.C. We can host
photo shoots in our studio, or we can travel up to 3 hours distance to
you. (ie) Vancouver Island, Seattle, WA, Kamloops, B.C. etc.
The comfort of our models is really important to us, and models will
never be asked to do something that makes them uncomfortable. Many
models prefer to meet us for coffee before deciding to do a photo
shoot with us, and we encourage this if you have any questions before
hand. Our goal is to capture unique and artistic erotic imagery.
Nudity is optional, and depends on your comfort level.
Please contact us if you are interested.

A year ago today we finished our trip across Canada. Can a year have passed so quickly already? Obviously it did, but the time seems to have flown by. We’ve been in our house now for 10 months too. Wow. I really had a blast on our trip and sometimes I miss being on the road. We might still have been on the road if it hadn’t been so darn expensive to travel. I am glad we settled down though. I like having a house - and a yard for the dogs. I like having my king size bed to sleep in rather than the sofa in the RV. I am a real home body so it is really nice to have a -home- again.
Now the update…
We took a time off of running parties in our dungeon this month. Katt’s health has been poor for the last 6 weeks or so and we decided that some time to ourselves was in order while she was going through the initial stages of diagnosis. We are waiting for speicalists appointments still. It takes a while. The two different ideas that are being bandied about are an autoimmune issue which may resolve itself over time, or alternatively fibromyalgia, which is a chronic condition. Until she sees a specialist we can;t say for sure what is going on. We are hoping it is autoimmune and that it will go away on it’s own, but we are prepared if it happens to be something else.
Starting September we’ll be throwing parties as normal. We don’t really make anything from the parties, we break even, but the spin offs from people seeing the space and later wanting to rent the space for private use is a real benefit to us. It will be awesome to have people here and using the space again.
A major development for me - I am now a reviewer at Janes Guide! I’ve been friendly with the folks over at Janes Guide since I first entered the adult internet business in 2000 and am really stoked to be a part of such a well respected site and working with people I have a lot of respect for. *does a happy dance*
We had planned on breeding Luna, our newest female pug, but we decided not to in the end. The risk of complications with squishy faces dogs giving birth is quite high, and we didn’t want to risk anything bad happening to Luna; we love her too much! So as soon as she finished her heat we’re going to have her spayed.
The shop roof doesn’t leak. We had 3 days of rain this week and the roof was water tight. It’s gratifying to know that I did a good job on it. If we stay here more than another few years I will have to re roof the house. In the meantime I am going to put moss killer on the roof and take the moss off once it dies. That should extend the life of the roof.
We have been throwing ideas around as to what we plan on doing for the next 2 years and 2 months. The original plan was to live in this house until Oct 2009 and decide whether we’d stay here or sell and move somewhere else. Depending on what happens with Katt’s health and our finances we have though of potentially moving earlier. We’ll stay here as long as we can afford to financially, emotionally, and health wise. Hopefully for at least another 2 years and 2 months! I like living in Chilliwack. Our neighbors are great, we’re close to our friends and family, and we’re so close to nature. I also really love our leisure centre. It is the best one I’ve been to in any city across the country.
I’d better be off to bed. Need my gnarly sleep and all.
I’ve been feeling really crappy over the last few weeks. Other than doing some web work and a little work on the nursery, I’ve basically been living on my sofa. Actually, if you count driving into Vancouver to pick up a massage table, the three days we had a client here, and the painting I did tonight in the basement stairwell, I’ve done a fair bit.
I finished painting inside of the cupboards in the basement tonight. I did a first coat of floor paint on the stairs to the basement too. I also went to the GYM *gasp* today.
I’ve been feeling really down. It’s been a struggle to get out of bed every morning and to get motivated to do anything. There’s nothing wrong in my life at all; I’ve got a home, a bed, food, a lovely partner, two pugs, and a lot of books around. I just feel crappy. Bed time has been my favorite part of the day.
I’m hoping that getting back to the gym will help. If it gets much worse I’ll look into medication.
My to do list is still fairly big.
Left to do in first room:
Paint inside of cabinets.
- Faux the concrete walls
- arrange furniture
- hang dart board
Left to do in second room:
- Paint dividing wall red
- Faux the concrete walls
- Finish painting door
Left do do in entry room/laundry room/stairwell
- Second coat of floor paint in laundry room
Paint stairs & walls in stair well
- Hang curtain to partition/hide laundry room
It will probably be March 1 before we’re finished both rooms. I think we can get the first room finished in a week or two if we do a bit every day. We’d be down in the first room Faux’ing the wall tonight, but the paint is still wet on the steps.
The rest of the week is quite busy. We have to go into Vancouver tomorrow so Leila can get an adjustment on her lap band, and we’re going to go to Ikea on the way home. Thursday we have guests. Friday we have an appointment, and Saturday we get to go to a kinky party.
We had a few threatening e-mails recently demanding we take a few of our sites down or ‘you will be exposed across the internet”.. Uhhh… Everyone knows who we are anyways, so who cares? Certainly not me. In fact, it could be good for business. The server is secure, the registrar is locked and has been warned about possible attempts to hijack the domain. Mt reputation certainly won’t be harmed, since everyone I know, including my family, knows what I do for a living. There are benefits to being completely out; nobody can blackmail you.
Bed time.
The bedroom is finally finished. I painted the last bits of trim yesterday and we organized it last night. It is a lovely bedroom. The colour we have on the walls & ceiling is called Royal Red, but it should really have been called Bloodbath Red. It is a lovely colour, but it does look like someone sprayed the walls with blood. Ah well. It suits us!
I also finished painting the dark brown trim in the hallway. All that’s left of that is to paint the bathroom door and trim. That is my task for tomorrow.
Business is really slow right now. I wonder if it’s something many other sites are dealing with. Our traffic is still good, but not many are buying right now. We have to get some bald models soon. That will certainly help.
We got our first nursery booking, which is awesome. We’ve working hard setting up the nursery, so it’ll be really kick ass. Hopefully we’ll be able to start working on the dungeon soon. As with anything, it depends on having money, which we don’t, so it may be a while. The thing I can do cheaply is sand down the walls and get them ready for painting.
I’ve been looking for a part time job. There is a distinct lack of any job that pays over $9/hr. That’s much lower than I am willing to go. I’ve been looking into more self employment options as well. Aside from wanting to earn some money, I also want to get out of the house and interact with people. I just don’t want to do it for a crap wage. It’s actually been quite a challenge to think of things I’d like to do that I qualify for that pay reasonably well. I am reasonably confident I’ll find something to occupy my time… eventually!
We’ve got the RV for sale as well. We’ve had a few folks look at it, but no offers yet. Winter isn’t the best time to sell an RV though, either. RV’ing is very seasonal, and sales don’t usually start to take off until March. Given that, we’re lowering our price in hopes that we’ll generate more interest. It’s a nice RV, but we need something a wee bit smaller that gets better gas mileage. It comes out again in the regional buy and sell today, so hopefully we’ll get more calls and a buyer.
Hopefully we’ll be ready for a housewarming party soon. Once we get the last bit of painting done and the art hung, we should probably be able to set a date. The challenge will be to get our friends, all of which live in or near Vancouver, our here to the burbs. 90 minutes isn’t so far though, so maybe we’ll have a big old partay! We shall see!
Katt is continuing to recover from her hysterectomy. She hasn’t gotten hysterical once since her surgery date. We went out for coffee with some local kinky folks we just met, and Katt dolled herself up. Man that girl is hot. She’s lost over 70lbs and she’s looking mighty fine. We were walking and she got a compliment from a passing lady pedestrian. I think that made her night. She’s pretty fatigued, emotionally and physically, from the surgery. A hysterectomy, even if you never wanted kids, is still a very emotional thing to have happened to you. Just the resources required from her body to repair the damaged tissue is astounding. I think she’s doing pretty well though. I pick up the slack where I can so she can rest and recover. I want her to stay healthy and not injure herself because she did too much.
I’m at 205lbs right now, down 25 lbs from where I was at last November. I’m also completely out of shape, where I was in awesome shape last November. It’s been one year since I exercised regularly. Not so good. Though, to be fair, I had ankle surgery in January and I was supposed to avoid impact exercise completely for 6 months. The yard work and painting has been good for me though.
Surprisingly, I have been having a lot of pain in my surgically repaired ankle. I am a little concerned about that. Once we can afford a membership at the community centre, I’ll start going to the gym again and I’ll work on strengthening the joint and see if that helps.
This has been one of my mish mash entries. For someone who doesn’t have a lot going on, I have a lot going on.

I have been focusing a lot on work the last few days. I need to in order to pay to fix the LCD screen on my fabulous laptop. I found out I could save about $500 by sending the laptop directly to Gateway to have the LCD screen fixed instead of the $1300 I was quoted locally. The plan is to test the laptop to make sure it’s all working (by hooking it up to a regular monitor) before sending it off. I want to be sure there’s nothing else wrong before I invest in fixing it.
I wrote some enquiry e-mails today about posting ads for head shaving models in local fetish newsletters. We really need to find models for Bald Beauties. We offer attractive compensation for head shave models so we’re hoping it draws some interest.
I really love our members area CMS. It simplifies site updates immensely. I’ve got 2 out of 14 sites added so far; I stopped after the first two while we were travelling and now I’m back in the groove again. I started working on the third site tonight and will try to finish it in the next few days and will move on to the next.
Jodie: We’re in Victoria now but I am booked up on a contract for the next few weeks, but I should have some free time at the end of the month.
Donna: Bowen Island is nice, but not really in our price range. We’re looking on Vancouver Island since there are more properties in our price range. We can get more property (which meanswe can throw parties and bring friends over from the mainland) for a cheaper price.
We are back in BC again. We arrived on Monday and we’ve spent the last few days visiting my family. About 2 weeks ago we decided we were done travelling, so we’ve been trying to decide where we want to live. There are parts of Vancouver Island we are considering, as well as parts of the sunshine coast and parts of eastern BC. As always, time will tell where we end up.
Wherever we end up, we’ll be within 6 hours of Vancouver so we can go to parties and keep in touch with friends. We also need to be close to town for business.
Speaking of business… We’re desperate to find a lovely lady to shave her head on camera with us. We pay! Contact me if interested!
Back on the subject of home. I am really looking forward to finding a place to live. I am very ready to have a home base again. We’ll spend the next few weeks on Vancouver Island visiting family and looking at places, then we’ll be coming back to the mainland to look as well. It should be fun.
We’re on Prince Edward Island now. It’s quite a nice little island. The low rolling hills, vast tracts of farmland, and all of the small fences and tree hedges bwtween fields, remind me of photographs I’ve seen of the rural areas of Great Britain. It’s a very rural little province; even Charlottetown, the ‘big’ city, is within a few miles of vast farmland. It seems as if at least half the roads are unpaved, hard packed red dirt roads.
We went to Cabot Beach today and spent some time in the water with the dogs. It is a gorgeous little red sand beach that has a full time lifeguard on duty, and a fabulous view.
In the evening we tend to watch a few shows on DVD and/or read before we go to sleep. We’re almost done season 2 of Dead Like Me. It was such an awesome show, it sucks majorly that they cancelled it. Fuckers. Ah well, I’ll enjoy watching the last 4 episodes.
It’s been a real mixed bag of weather on PEI. We’ve had rain, sun, wind, and clouds, but the temperature has always been in the early-mid 20’s and it’s been VERY humid. It feels more like 30 out there than 20 with the humidity. I don’t do so well in humidity. I tend to melt. Well, sweat produsely, anyways. it just looks like I am melting. Thank goodness for the roof A/C in the van!
We’re having a Summer Sale on Bald Beauties from July 1 to July 4, 2006. We’re offering 40% off monthly memberships for those 4 days. Hopefully we’ll get a good response! We like to offer specials from time to time to help make the site more accessible to lower income folks, and to encourage people to check out what we’ve got. We rock, buy a membership! Yeah! We may do similar specials for the other sites, but we have nothing definitive planned yet.
Dinner time!
It is interesting to me what some people consider camping. I consider being out in the woods or on a lake in a remote area that is away from modern conveniences camping. I don’t consider puting up a tent or parking your RV in an RV resort/park camping. If you have cable TV, it ain’t camping.
I see many families that come to RV parks to spend their vacation. Thats just so wierd to me to want to be crammed together with hundreds of other vehicles and tents in the middle of a freaking city for your only 2 weeks of vacation time. RV parks are a great place to park if you are travelling across the country, or need a place to stay while you’re exploring a city, but to park and not leave the site for a few weeks? How BORING.
Oh… Ultraviolet (the movie) sucked ass. It’s only redeeming quality was Milla (even though her acting sucked). MMMmmMMmmm… Milla. She’s way too freaking skinny, but her lips are gorgeous.
I finished adding Bald Beauties to the CMS software today and made the changes live. I’m really enjoying this CMS. It’s working out really well so far. Three days at a hotel with a superfast wifi connection gave me ample time to get everything working properly. I’ll start with another site this weekend if I feel up to it. I should spend some time advertising as well, and it’s probably a priority over adding another member area to the CMS.
We’re in Niagara Falls for the weekend, then we go back to the Toronto area for Katt’s first post surgical follow up. Her next appointment is 2 weeks after that, so we’re trying to decide what to do and where to go for the two weeks following. I need to get some things mailed to me, so we may stay put for a few days next week as well. We are going to play it by ear and see how well the girl feels and if she’s up to exploring or whether she needs to relax a bit more to recouperate.
She is doing very well. She’s got the same issues that most folks who have the band have, but they seem to be very manageable for her. The worst part for her, I’ve seen, is having to take her evening mediations crushed because they taste so bad. She’ll have to take them crushed until she gets to the post surgical phase where solids are allowed to be ingensted.
So far so good!

So I’ve finally chosen a paysite CMS to manage our members areas with and I just sent payment off today. It’s been running on the server for a week or so managing the members area for Curvosity. Initially I had some challenges with the software which made me reluctant to buy it, but every issue I had during the week was resolved really quickly. The customer service was fantastic. I’ve got the next 2 weeks of updates set up for Curvosity, and I’m now setting up Bald Beauties.
It is a long and laborious process to go though all the galleries for a site and zip them up individually, upload them and reprocess them with the CMS. One of the more challenging issues is maintaining gallery order, so I go through the galleries and upload them based on the year the gallery was made. That’s as close as I’ll get to perfect order for the older material. Anything new will be fine, of course, and I’ll endeavor to make the order as close as possible for the older galleries.
One of the cool features of the CMS is that I can tell, to the number, how many galleries, photos, videos, and stories we have online. No more bad Wolfe math!
